Rifle Middle School has an opening for a full time significant support needs paraprofessional. This position will work to support students and staff and may provide support one on one, in small groups, and in the classroom to students with significant support needs. This will be a full time position at 34 hours per week.  

Duties may include:

Working with students with aggressive behaviors (training provided)

Toileting with students (diapers, prompting for toilet usage)

Assisting students with feeding, including lunch and breakfast

Working in various working environments, including one-on-one with students with significant needs, to working with groups of students in a classroom setting. 

Applicant should have:

A basic understanding of disabilities, especially autism

LOTS of patience for students with limited communication abilities

A desire to help ALL children, of various backgrounds, disabilities and needs

The ability to be extremely flexible with frequent changes

Requirements: 

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to pass a fingerprint based background check

Two years of documented college level courses or ability to successfully complete the Workkeys equivalent.
